Everything's in 3D!!
A big part of my design process involves 3D modeling. I have been using Solidworks since 2009. I also regularly use AutoCAD and have had classes in Autodesk Inventor, and Catia.

Solidworks if very useful for fabrication and design, but I have found that it is also useful for creating "reference" visualizations as well.
I come across a lot of situations where all someone needs is a picture of their idea just to get their message across. Whether it be for funding procurement, for a quote reference or just to aid in the design and implementation process.
